Yorkshire teams have completed a remarkable season in the 2024 Northern Bridge League by finishing in first place in all three divisions.
The final round of matches was played on 19th October. In the A division this round was won by Merseyside & Cheshire, but over the season as a whole Yorkshire were more consistent and finished 11 victory points clear of their rivals.
Yorkshire entered two teams in the B and C divisions. In the B division, the final round was won by Manchester, but our teams had built a substantial lead at the top of the table, and in the end it was Yorkshire 2 that prevailed by 18 victory points ahead of Yorkshire 1 with the others trailing by a distance.
In the C division, Merseyside & Cheshire won the final round and in the process overtook Yorkshire 2. Yorkshire 1 however finished as champions, 36 victory points clear of Merseyside with Yorkshire 2 another 13 points adrift.
Yorkshire A, B2 and C1 will be eligible to play in the finals of the National Inter–Counties League taking place next summer. Congratulations to all and thanks to the players for supporting the competition and to the selectors for their hard work in ensuring the county fielded five highly competitive teams on all four match days.
A more detailed report, including the players in the final round of matches, will be posted on the Leagues page in the near future.
