YCBA Clubs’ Grant – June Update

24th June 2023

We have so far awarded five club grants totalling almost £4,000. 

Grants are for new equipment and to assist in premises rental for beginners’ teaching. 

There is still substantial money still available.

National Inter–County League Finals

23rd June 2023

National Inter–County League Finals played last Sunday, 18th June.

In the C final Yorkshire finished in a strong second place, just 3 VPs behind the winners, Northamptonshire. 

The Yorkshire team was  Peter Camm & Glyn Foley, Rod Hose & David Adams, David Wilson & Mark Ballantine, and Richard Hilton & Pauline Cooper.

Yorkshire qualified for the final by virtue of winning the C division of the Northern Bridge League in 2022.

New Bridge Teacher One Day Course in July

A compact and practical one day “Bridge Teacher Fundamentals” course is to run at Halifax Bridge Club on Monday 3 July 2023. This will cover the same subject material as in the standard two day EBED teacher course. 

Participants are limited to 12 persons at a special rate of £50 per attendee.

Yorkshire League 2023 Winners

16th May 2023

Congratulations to the Leeds A team of M.Edge, N.Woolven, R.Jepson, A.Brosgill, A.Jarvis, T. Copeland, M.Ott and T. Read who after winning the Yorkshire League and then winning the regional heat held at Bradford Bridge club on 13th May, will now play in the national final at Coventry Bridge club on 17th June.
